As we begin our new journey together, I find spiritual encouragement that we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. It is in the Eucharist that we identify the reason for our being a community.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church quotes an ancient prayer: “O sacred banquet in which Christ is received as food, the memory of his Passion is renewed, the soul is filled with grace and a pledge of the life to come is given to us.”
What a glorious statement is proclaimed in these words. It is because we believe this, we work together to build God’s kingdom on earth.
My prayer for us is that our communion nourishes us completely, fills us with God’s love and leads us to share that love with all.
I look forward to walking this journey with you. May God bless us with his peace.
