The parishes of the Matthew 13 Catholic Collaborative — Blessed Sacrament of Walpole, Our Lady of Sorrows of Sharon and St. Mary of Walpole — presented a Lenten Mission in preparation for Easter. The Mission, titled “Gather in the Spirit; Sow a New Life”, was held Monday, March 23 at St Mary Parish; Tuesday, March 24 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish; and Wednesday, March 25 at Blessed Sacrament Parish. On Wednesday, the Mission included the celebration of Mass.

The Mission leader was Fr. Bill Brown, OMV, a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary who presently serves as the Director of St. Joseph Retreat House in Milton.

Each evening of the Mission had a particular theme, connected to an image or symbol of Catholic significance, and a particular grace to result from our prayer and contemplation that night.

March 23, 2015: St. Mary, East Walpole:

Theme: SALVATION: God’s plan for our happiness and our response.
Grace: To know and accept God’s tremendous love for us.

March 24, 2015: Our Lady of Sorrows, Sharon:

Theme: JESUS AS SAVIOR: Who is Jesus for us?
Grace: To ask for a deeper knowledge of Jesus as Savior and to renew our personal faith in him.

March 25, 2015: Blessed Sacrament, Walpole:

Theme: DISCIPLESHIP; baptism calls us to share in the work & mission of Christ.
Grace: To follow and imitate Jesus as his servant.
